The National Weather Service said freezing drizzle will cause slick roads during the New Year's Eve morning commute in central Ohio.
Wind gusts of 40 to 50+ mph are likely Sunday night into Monday as a cold front blasts through with a chance of severe thunderstorms. The cold front is likely to cross Northern Ohio on either side of midnight. The cold front could bring isolated strong to severe storms, with damaging winds and minor flooding being the main threats.
On Thursday at 2:35 a.m. a snow squall warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 3:30 a.m. for Carbon and Monroe counties.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory across southern Wisconsin lasting throughout the day Dec. 29.
Winds stay up overnight with gusts up to 35mph possible. Snow showers should be fewer and a little less intense as they fade. The cold is with us for the rest of 2025 and more light snow is possible.
An updated snow squall warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 2:45 a.m. in effect until 3:30 a.m. for Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike and Wayne counties.
