Vilano Beach is another option - it’s North West of old town and just a tiny bit closer. However the beaches are slanted and narrower and have some unfortunate beach erosion.

We're really trying to decide between the Hampton at St. Augustine Beach or the Hampton at Vilano Beach (using Hilton points). We're just worried about the construction noise/hassle around Vilano.
