Look, I’m not saying that no one should follow the 8020 training ratios. However, it’s not a suitable training method for many athletes and it is modelled on elite high mileage runners. We shouldn’t always approach our own training with the same outlook. So, who is 8020 training most suitable for in my opinion? People who are susceptible to injury definitely. For those that may not know it simply states runners should do 80% of their training EASY 20% of their training HARD However, I have discussed this a lot, so shall leave it there this time and focus on how to calculate the percentages.
