Here’s a closer look at the stunning Cupola ceiling inside @hopetounhouse These spectacular paintings were covered up with 12 layers of white paint for over 100 years and were only discovered by accident during an investigation in the 1980’s! A grant was provided by the Historic Buildings Council for Scotland which allowed the work to be done to uncover this astounding artwork.
