❄️ Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley, a farmer from Jericho, was the first to photograph a single snow crystal. Using his microscope and a camera, Bentley took his first photograph in 1885 and worked every winter over the next 47 years to capture more than 5,000 individual crystals. Many of those original copies live in an exhibit at the Jericho Historical Society.
